A delegation from City University of Macau’s Student Union, led by Union President Mr. Lin Chang, visited the Macau Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei’s landmark building Taipei 101 recently. Director of the Office Ms. Leung Kit Chi welcomed the students personally.
The Macau Economic and Cultural Office in Taiwan was established by the Macao Special Administrative Region Government. The Office’s purpose is to provide services and assistances to Macau residents, who work, study, travel, conduct business, live, or may encounter emergencies in Taiwan. The Office also promotes exchanges and cooperation between Macau and Taiwan in trade, tourism, technology, environmental protection, education, health, cultural creativity, academic publishing, technical specialty, social welfare and other areas.
Director Leung expressed her welcome to the members of the student delegation. Over the past few months, the Office has been working closely with Macau students in Taiwan, organizing activities such as job fairs for companies and recruitment fairs for the civil service system, and cooperating with the students in promotions for tourism, culture, education, health, etc. From now on, Macau’s universities will be able to conduct academic, cultural or educational exchanges and visits with Taiwan’s tertiary institutes or relevant departments through the Office.
President of City U’s Student Union Mr. Lin Chang indicated that City U would continue to develop and maintain a close relationship with the Office. Supported by the Office, City U’s Student Union plans to have annual exchanges with universities in Taiwan, providing more opportunities for City U’s teachers and students to visit Taiwan, further improving the cultural and academic relationship between Macau and Taiwan, broadening the students' international horizons.
